Bunny Boiler 🐰

During one of my visits to the Emerald Isle, I stopped by my friend’s family house located in Ballsbridge, Dublin. Ballsbridge is like the Mayfair of Dublin or the Pac Heights of Dublin but with an Irish charm. It's no wonder it's a sought-after spot; even Kim from TIDE’s team calls Ballsbridge home—a sure sign it’s both posh and trendy!

I needed a place to freshen up before a big night out. Since it was too early to check into my hotel, my friend generously offered his family home. Although he wasn’t around, his mom was.

I’ve traveled to almost 60 countries (my upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia at the end of this month will be my 59th), and I must say that the Irish are the friendliest people in the world. My Irish friends attribute it to the fact that, well, they’re often a bit tipsy! đŸ»

So when I arrived at my friend’s house, his mom greeted me warmly and welcomed me with open arms despite never having met. We sat down for tea and quickly hit it off. I soon discovered she was a retired psychiatrist. Of course, I couldn’t resist asking the burning question: “Sooo, what’s wrong with me?”

With a playful smile, she replied, “Oh, where do we begin?” 😆

She was joking—I think! While I didn’t leave with a formal diagnosis, I did walk away with the best kind of therapy: laughter.

Fortunately, I’ve got my mental health in check - although I have been called a bunny boiler in my crazy days. I had to Google the definition when I first heard it.

What I’m focused on now is my physical health. Losing loved ones too young has left a lasting impact on me. My mom passed away from cancer at just 50 years old. A few years later, my aunt—who lived with me and helped raise Jayden—died from heart issues at 40. More recently, in November, my mom’s youngest brother passed away from complications related to diabetes at the age of 56. Chronic health conditions run rampant on my mom’s side of the family—the only side I know.

These experiences prompted me to take my health more seriously in recent years. I’ve started paying closer attention to my diet, exercise, and supplements. It wasn’t until late last year that I came across FunctionHealth.com. It’s a new company that created the first-ever membership that includes the cost of 100+ lab tests—comprehensive across heart, thyroid, hormones, metabolic, toxins, nutrients, autoimmunity, and more. You don’t need a doctor’s prescription.

I signed up for a membership. I figured I was taking all these vitamins but yet I don’t know what I’m lacking. The process was straightforward. Scheduling blood draws was easy—though you do need to go in twice within a 10-day period. A few weeks later, I received my results, though I’m still waiting on the clinician notes.

As you can see below, 88 of my lab results are within range, while 13 are out of range. The biomarkers that are out of range are related to my high blood pressure and kidney issues. 😅

Though I have issues (don’t we all?!), I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my biological age is 33.2!
